INSAR membership is open to individuals engaged in academic or research activities, graduate students and post doctoral researchers, and others vested in the study of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).

There are two Membership Application Periods each year: January 1 - March 1 and June 1 - December 31.   Neither membership applications nor dues payments are accepted during these dates: March 2 - May 31.  If membership lapses, an application to rejoin INSAR as a new member will be accepted only during an open application period.

INSAR membership dues cover a calendar year (January 1 - December 31) and is not prorated.  If you join INSAR mid-year, membership is through the end of that year. A dues renewal notice for the next year's dues will be sent electronically in September.  To be eligible for Member (IMFAR) registration fees, current membership is required at the time of registration.

The deadline to join, renew, and apply for INSAR membership prior to IMFAR is March 1.  After March 1, non-members register at the non-member registration rates. Membership opens again after IMFAR. To register for IMFAR at the member rate, membership dues must have been paid prior to the deadline!
