INSAR membership dues cover a calendar year (January 1 - December 31) and are not prorated. As a new member, when you pay membership dues you are paying through the end of the current year. See application periods below for more details.
INSAR membership will be open to individuals engaged in academic or research activities (full members), graduate students and post doctoral researchers (student members) and others (affiliate members) vested in the study of autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).

In order to qualify for membership, fees must be paid annually and an initial application must be submitted online. All applications are reviewed by the INSAR Membership Committee. Allow 4-6 weeks for application review and processing.
* To be eligible for the reduced registration fee for IMFAR, you must submit your membership application online by March 1.
** To be eligible for INSAR Travel Awards, you must be an approved and paid INSAR member at the time of application.
Effective January 1, 2014 INSAR is instituting a $50 new member application fee for Full and Affiliate Members and a $25 application fee for Student Members.
New membership applications will be accepted online January 1 - March 1, 2013 and May 20, 2013 - December 31, 2013 for the 2013 membership year. You need to be a current member in 2013 to submit an abstract for IMFAR 2014 at the member rate.

Student Membership $50
For student membership, the individual must be enrolled in a graduate program or post graduate program involving autism related research at an accredited university.
Full Membership $100
For full membership, an individual must have a graduate degree from an accredited university, have publications in peer reviewed journals related to autism research, and/or have external funding for autism related research. In addition, an individual may have other scientific credentials that they wish to submit to the membership committee for review. This membership type is a voting member.
Affiliate Member $100
Affiliate membership status is available for non-students, including community stakeholders such as families and individuals living with autism, who do not (yet) meet membership requirements, but wish to enjoy the benefits of membership, save voting privileges.
