INSAR Institute for Autism Research 2024:

Ageing in Autism

In alignment with INSAR’s Mission and InitiativesThe 2024 INSAR Institute for Autism Research was “Ageing in Autism.” This series delved into the underexplored yet critical area of understanding how autism presents, evolves, and is experienced as individuals transition into older adulthood. The initiative aimed to shed light on the unique challenges, needs, and opportunities faced by ageing autistic individuals, integrating diverse perspectives from research, clinical practice, and the lived experiences of the community. The 2024 INSAR Institute showcased research into ageing in autism that drew on a range of research methodologies and inspired students and trainees to learn from and potentially adopt different ways of working when furthering their own lines of scientific inquiry.
