IMFAR 2010 - An overwhelming success

Thank you to all attendees, presenters, sponsors and exhibitors at IMFAR 2010.  With over 1,700 participants this year, we substantially exceeded our previous conference attendance record.  New this year, keynote sessions were recorded and will be made available on our web site as soon as possible.  Watch for more details on this added benefit of INSAR membership.

Your Program Committee worked hard to present a rich and information-filled meeting. This year the Committee reviewed nearly 1,000 abstracts from around the world and the program included 204 speakers in oral sessions and reviewed and discussed the work of 750 others in poster presentations. You can see the extraordinary breadth of research topics covered at the conference in the program booklet posted online.

There were also a number of Educational Symposia on topics ranging from Neuro-Imaging Genetics to Future Approaches to the Psychophamacology of Autism. There were also six lunchtime special interest groups (SIGs).  The introduction of a community pre-meeting was also a great success.  With close to 200 attendees, INSAR helped make connections between the lay community and their local autism professional resources.

We will shortly be distributing a survey to get your feedback on the meeting and suggestions for future improvements.

Plans are already under way for the 10th anniversary meeting – IMFAR 2011. See you in San Diego, California, May 12 – 14, 2011!
